Doug has been inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, the Canadian Olympic Committee Hall of Fame, and the BC Sports Hall of Fame. Doug won the Lou Marsh Award as Canada’s top athlete in 1953. In Honour of Doug and with his approval, BCWA began the Junior Doug Hepburn Championships (Under 17 years of age) in 1998.

In 1968 Paul’s training lifts were fantastic as he Snatched 143kg (World Record at the time was 150kg) and Cleaned 191kg (World Record C&J was approximately 195-200). Unfortunately, Paul became quite ill prior to the Olympic Games which resulted in a big drop of bodyweight and a less than anticipated performance.
