If you can read these words, then you are ready to start Weightlifting! Whether you want to simply have fun, improve performance in another sport, or you strive to participate in the Olympic Games, weightlifting has something for everybody. Contrary to some beliefs, weightlifting is one of the safest sports around and is great for athletes of all ages from 8 years old to 80 years old (and beyond!). The first thing you will have to do is to find yourself a club with a knowledgeable coach. Check out our club section HERE and find the club nearest to you. Once you join a club, you will fill out an affiliation form for BCWA and you will be ready to start!
